Garlic: A Must-Have For Flu Season
Of all the herbs in a good cold-fighting arsenal, garlic is a must-have. Although garlic comes in several forms such as odorless pills, powder and liquid, good, old-fashioned fresh garlic is best. Add it to greens, sauces and veggies for taste and for its healing and immune-building properties as well.
And when you feel a cough or cold coming on, chop up a clove or two and swallow it, followed by a quick chew on some fresh parsley to combat offensive breath.
But don’t shy away from this healing powerhouse because of its potent scent.
Garlic is known to detoxify the body and protect against infection by enhancing immune function. It can lower blood pressure and improve circulation, help stabilize blood sugar, and help treat a whole menu of diseases such as arteriosclerosis, arthritis, asthma, cancer, circulatory problems, colds and flu, digestive problems and yeast infections, just to name a few. Garlic is good for virtually any disease or infection. With flu season just around the corner, keep some fresh garlic in the fridge.
