Signs You May Want to Go Gluten-Free
Occasional bloating after a night of pizza is normal, but if it becomes a regular occurrence, then it may be time to consider cutting the gluten out of your diet.
What is gluten?
According to celiac.com, “gluten is a general name for the proteins found in wheat, rye, barley and triticale. Gluten acts as a glue, holding the foods together and can be found in a variety of foods including:
- baked goods
- salad dressings
- malt (malted barley flour, malted milk and milkshakes, malt extract, malt syrup, malt flavoring, malt vinegar)
- food coloring
- rye bread, such as pumpernickel
Symptoms of gluten intolerance
- smelly bowel movements
- abdominal pain
- Fatigue and tiredness
- brain fog
- unexplained weight loss
- bloody stool
- changes in your bowel habits
