What’s in Season: Go Green
As the weather cools, protecting the immune system becomes a priority. Recent research has shown the link between your digestive system and a healthy immune system. Green vegetables are an excellent source of fiber and nutrients to cleanse and feed the digestive system.
Green veggies in season:
- Brussel sprouts
- Collard greens
- Swiss chard
- Greens (collard, mustard, turnip)
Give these green veggie recipes a try:
Simple Roasted Broccoli
- 1 head of organic broccoli, florets and stems chopped into bite-size pieces
- 3-4 tbsps. Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spread broccoli pieces onto foil-lined sheet pan. Drizzle broccoli with olive oil and sprinkle on salt and pepper.
Roast for 20-30 minutes, until tender.
