Having healthy, moist skin is important to your overall health. How so? The skin is the largest organ of the body. It acts like armor, protecting our internal body from infections and releasing toxins through sweat.

As the weather cools and we retreat to dry, heated air indoors, our skin can dry quickly and become susceptible to cracking.

Sometimes lotions don’t moisturize well for extended periods of time, making it necessary to reapply often throughout the day.

Luckily, there are several natural moisturizers you can use to keep the skin supple, soft, and moisturized for hours.

Here are some of our favorites.

Jojoba oil: similar to the oil the body creates naturally, making it ideal for all skin types

Coconut oil: naturally antibacterial, antifungal, and moisturizing

Black castor oil: rich in omega-9 fatty acids and help reduce inflammation

Almond oil: improves complexion while reducing puffiness and under-eye circles

Olive oil: reduces water loss

Avocado oil: contains  beta carotene, protein, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E to protect the skin from harmful UV rays

Vitamin E oil: can be used on your face as an overnight anti-aging treatment

Create Your Own Oil Blend

In a small bottle, combine a mixture of any of the oils above. Keep it fragrance-free or add essential oils like lavender or peppermint.
