3 Steps to Breaking a Fast
Completing a fast is a great accomplishment. Weight loss, improved mental clarity and overall well being from fasting can have tremendous benefits, helping prevent or even eliminate some diseases. But just as important as completing the fast is how you break it.
Here is how you should break a fast to set the foundation for better health in the future.
- Make warm bone or vegetable broth as your first “meal” after fasting. Make your own with fresh, organic vegetables like carrots, celery, mushrooms, onions, garlic and more. You can also buy good quality broths at your local health food store. Drinking nutrient-dense broth helps the body adjust to food while providing important nutrients to the cells.
