When we think of parsley, we mostly associate it with decoration on our meals at our restaurant. And we usually toss it to the side and out it goes to the garbage with the rest of the discarded food scraps.

But parsley isn’t just for decoration. Parsley has many health benefits such as expelling worms, relieving gas, stimulating the normal activity of the digestive system and freshening breath. It is believed to help almost every internal organ including the bladder, kidneys, liver, lungs, stomach and thyroid gland.

Its healing claims include improving:

  • fluid retention
  • halitosis
  • high blood pressure
  • indigestion
  • obesity
  • prostate disorders

Some people have so much faith in parsley that men have rubbed the herb on their scalps to cure baldness.

Lastly, this clover-shaped plant packs more vitamin C than oranges when it comes to weight. Parsley comes in several different varieties from curly to Italian to flat leaf and can be bought fresh in just about all supermarkets. It’s great tossed in a salad or juiced with apples for a sweet and healthy tonic.
