HIIT workouts are popular these days and for good reason. If you’re looking for an intense workout but you don’t have a lot of time, then this might become your new jam.

What is HIIT?

HIIT, or high intensity interval training, is a combination of short, very-high intensity bursts of cardio exercise followed by equal or longer periods of rest. Think 30 seconds to a minute of sprinting, followed by a minute or two of slow jogging. Repeat this cycle for as little as 10 minutes, and you’re done!

Why HIIT?

Even doing one HIIT workout per week will shed pounds and build strength throughout the body.

More benefits include:

  • Burn fat
  • Maintain a high metabolic rate for hours after your workout
  • No equipment needed
  • Torch major calories
  • Improve oxygen consumption
  • Reduce heart rate and blood pressure

*HIIT workouts are not recommended if you have knee, hip or back problems. High impact exercises performed frequently can aggravate joints or cause injury.
