Nothing says summer like the cool freshness of a summer fruit salad. Fruits are full of nutrients and water to hydrate the body.

This isn’t your typical fruit salad. Not only does it include some surprise fruit combinations, but it includes the kick of jalapeno. Enjoy it for breakfast or at your next summer gathering.

Always go for organic, when possible.

Sweet and Spicy Fruit Salad

Ingredients:

1/2 cup diced apple
1/2 cup diced avocado
1/2 cup pitted and diced dates
1/2 cup diced kiwi fruit
1/2 cup diced strawberries
1/2 cup diced pineapple
1/2 cup diced berries of your choice
1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
2 cups fresh-squeezed orange juice
2/3 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
2/3 cup maple syrup
1 1/4 cup frozen strawberries

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. If you like spicy, also add 1/2 teaspoon jalapeno. Set aside.

In a blender, combine the juices, maple syrup, frozen berries and 1/2 teaspoon of jalapeno and mix until well blended. Pour the juice blend over the fruit and serve immediately. This dish also stores well in the fridge for 2-3 days.
